Hi Adolph,
Look at the picture. It's the Parthenon Temple. Compare the
building to the person and you will get a sense of scale.
They're standing near the third pole on the left. It's not a
blue stain but a human being!
This temple is 70 meters (230 feet) deep and 30 meters (98
feet) wide. The pole is 10 meters (32 feet) in height. It was
converted to a church dedicated to the Virgin Mary Church when
it belonged to Rome, and was a Islamic temple when it belonged
to the Ottoman Empire. It was kind of ransacked by the Italian
army's fire because the Ottoman Empire used it as a powder
magazine.
When I see the destruction of this powerful place, I really
feel the stupidity of human beings.
Now, I'm going back to the center of Athens.
